To kick things off, I put together a simple casual outfit perfect for fall. The three basics (cardigan, shirt, pants) are a color scheme that I am absolutely in love with. You'll come to find that my color spectrum is very dull, mute, monochrome, earthy, whatever you want to call it. To me, you can never go wrong with paring navy, denim, and grey especially with splashes of black.
Alright, now I know how much of a controversy Creepers are but I absolutely love them. I don't personally own a pair...yet, but I admire them too much. You can call them clown shoes all you like, but I think they add a bit of edge to any outfit. Also, they're a nice basic. They can pretty much go with anything. I love how they contrast with the normally "preppy" style of the three basics, and you'll see that I love to contrast styles. The Creepers pair with the denim shirt so well and give that bit of grunge too which I can't get enough of.
The velvet oxblood/maroon bow tie is to die for. Bow ties are an essential in any guy's closet. They are an easy accessory that can really make any outfit style in many different directions. The use of it here is that pop color to keep the eye from becoming too bored with the mass use of monochrome in the basics. I just wish I had that specific tie in my closet right now.
Beanies are the only hats I can work, but if you can work any other hat by all means go for it. However, for this specific outfit, I think a black topping helps tie together the top and bottom. The texture of the beanie adds a bit of depth too and helps the look seem more fall appropriate.
The black bag helps with that motif of black and really punks up the ensemble. And bags are always nice to have handy :)
And finally, Two Door Cinema Club recently came out with their new album "Beacon" which is absolutely amazing. They really have that feel good sound that's just perfect for a walk in the crisp air or a drive with the window down. Seriously look into them.
I hope this gives a new or reassuring insight for you guys that just need a go-to outfit for everyday fall weather. I can't believe how fun this actually was. I wish I could tell you exactly wear to buy all this stuff, but their super accessible items that you can find anywhere. Maybe even thrifted. Just keep this in mind and your eyes open and remember to keep your head up high.
